It's a cute story line about family coming together and not always getting along but it obviously works out well in the end as you'd expect. Which is a good thing. This is a good heart-warming movie for the whole family. Some viewers may not be able to relate to the theme of a young man's Bar Mitzvah, but this is only the vehicle used to carry the story, and it makes for good comedy. Pero el filme asume esa característica tan definitoria de las ficciones de Le Carré de sumergirnos en una historia de espías despojada de acción espectacular. Los ropajes (escenarios emblemáticos, agentes implicados, tramas rocambolescas... ) son los habituales del género, pero el tono resulta muy diferente. La película en ningún momento se encamina hacia la acción ruidosa, el romance peligroso o el heroísmo individual. Por el contrario, la tensión se juega la mayor parte de las veces de puertas adentro. Y aunque el pesimismo ante la situación en el mundo es evidente (aunque esta debe ser una de las visiones geopolíticas menos trabajadas por parte de John le Carré), se mantiene cierta fe y optimismo en lo que a la buena voluntad de algunos individuos se refiere.
