spiderman-acteur-2019Altre dissolvenze ci mostrano l'esterno dell'edificio, fino all'inquadratura esterna di una finestra illuminata. Improvvisamente si interrompe il tema musicale e si spegne la luce che proviene dalla finestra. Uno stacco di montaggio ci porta all'interno della finestra, dove troviamo il profilo di un corpo disteso nella penombra. Da questo momento si ferma la descrizione, e inizia la narrazione: una nevicata copre l'inquadratura, finché con uno zoom in avanti non ci rendiamo conto che essa proviene da una palla di vetro contenente una casetta con la neve. Poi vengono inquadrate le labbra ravvicinate dell'uomo, che dice "Rosebud", prima che le inquadrature successive ci mostrino la sua morte. Le scene all'interno di Xanadu ci hanno presentato il protagonista, e fin da subito capiamo che si tratta di un personaggio misterioso ed enigmatico (anche grazie alle inquadrature che ce lo mostrano solo parzialmente). Questa presentazione del personaggio si estende per tutto il film, senza mai arrivare a concludersi.
